Moderate and manage
This guide is for people with the moderate permission for announcements. Some actions are also available to a post’s author.
Pin and unpin
Section titled “Pin and unpin”Pinned posts stay at the top of the feed. From a post’s ⋯ menu, choose Pin to top or Unpin. Only moderators can change whether a post is pinned.
Edit a published post
Section titled “Edit a published post”Authors and moderators can change a post after it’s live. From a post’s ⋯ menu, choose Edit to open the editor.
You can change the title, the body, and the post options (anonymous comments, review, and acknowledgement). Only moderators can change whether a post is pinned. The poll and attachments are set when the post is created and can’t be changed afterwards.
When you change the title or body, readers see an (edited) marker next to the post’s date. Changing the pin state or an option on its own doesn’t mark the post as edited.
Delete and restore
Section titled “Delete and restore”-
From a post’s ⋯ menu, choose Delete, then confirm. The post leaves the feed. Its comments, reactions, and poll are kept.
-
To bring it back, open Recently deleted from the feed header (moderators only), find the post, and select Restore. It returns to the feed with its comments and reactions intact.
A post’s author can delete their own post; restoring from Recently deleted requires the moderate permission.
Review comments
Section titled “Review comments”If a post holds anonymous comments for review — or if AI comment moderation flags one — those comments wait as Pending review. Moderators see them with Approve and Reject buttons, along with the reason a comment was held (for example, Anonymous or an AI flag such as profanity). Approve to publish it, or reject to discard it.
Moderators can also delete any comment, including anonymous ones.
See who acknowledged
Section titled “See who acknowledged”On a post that requires acknowledgement, moderators see a count of how many people have confirmed. Open it to see the list of who acknowledged the post and when.
Manage polls
Section titled “Manage polls”Moderators (and the poll’s author) can Close voting now and Re-open voting, and they always see live results and the voter list regardless of the poll’s result settings. See Create and run polls.
