Post an announcement

This guide is for people who can post announcements. It covers writing a post, formatting it, attaching files, and the options you can turn on before you publish.

  • You need the create permission for announcements. If you have it, the feed shows a New post button.
  • Posts go to your whole organization and publish immediately — there’s no way to schedule a post or target specific people.
  • To include a poll, see Create and run polls.
  1. Open Announcements and choose New post.

  2. Enter a title (up to 255 characters).

  3. Write the body in the editor. The toolbar has bold, italic and strikethrough, a heading, bullet and numbered lists, quotes, inline code, links, and text colour. The body is optional — a title-only post is fine.

  4. Optionally attach images or documents (see below).

  5. Turn on any of the post options you need.

  6. Select Publish. You’re taken straight to the new post.

Use Attach images or documents to add files. They’re uploaded when you publish.

  • Types: images, PDF, Word, Excel, plain text, and CSV files.
  • Limits: up to 20 files per post, each up to 50 MB.
  • Images appear as thumbnails in the feed and open full-screen when clicked; other files show as download links.
  • Pin to top of feed — keeps the post above others until it’s unpinned.
  • Allow anonymous comments — lets readers comment without their name shown. Anonymous comments can’t be edited, and only moderators can remove them.
  • Review anonymous comments before they appear — holds anonymous comments for a moderator to approve first. This option appears only when anonymous comments are allowed.
  • Require employees to acknowledge — shows an I have read this button on the post and gives moderators a list of who has confirmed.

If your organization has AI drafting enabled, an AI assist menu appears next to the body. It works on the text you’ve already written — it never invents facts, dates, amounts, names, or links.

  • Polish, Make concise, Make formal, and Expand rewrite the body you’ve typed.
  • Suggest title proposes a title from your body.

The result fills in the field for you to review and edit — nothing is posted automatically. AI assist is limited to 20 requests every 10 minutes per person.
