Org chart

The org chart is a live picture of who reports to whom. It draws a tree from the manager set on each employee record, so it always reflects the current reporting lines — there’s nothing separate to maintain. Find it under People → Org chart in the sidebar.

The org chart is part of the employee directory. You can open it if either:

  • you have permission to view employee records (HR and admins), or
  • your organization has turned on directory visible to everyone, which lets all employees browse the chart.

If neither applies, the Org chart link won’t appear under People.

Each person is a card showing their photo, name, job title, and department. A coloured strip down the left edge marks the department, and the key in the bottom-left corner lists what each colour means.

  • Open a profile — click a person’s name to go straight to their employee profile.
  • Count in the header — “X of Y shown” tells you how many cards are visible versus how many are in the current view. Collapsed teams and the department filter both lower the first number.

The chart opens collapsed to the top of the organization, so you start with the most senior people and drill down from there.

  • A card with reports shows a chevron and a number — the number is how many people report directly to that person.
  • Click the chevron to reveal or hide that person’s reports.
  • Use Expand all in the header to open every branch at once, or Collapse all to return to the top-level view.
  1. In the Search people box (top-left), type at least two letters of a name.

  2. Pick someone from the list of matches.

  3. The chart expands the branches above them, centres on their card, and briefly highlights it so it’s easy to spot.

If you appear in the chart, a Locate me button sits under the search box — select it to jump to your own card.

Use the department menu in the top-right to focus on a single department. The chart re-centres on that group. Choose All departments to see everyone again.

The chart pans and zooms like a map:

  • Drag the background to pan, and scroll or use the zoom controls (bottom-left) to zoom in and out.
  • The minimap in the bottom-right shows where you are in a large chart — drag or click it to move quickly.
